The Clarion Development
SoftVelocity's Clarion family of Rapid Application Development tools produces high performance, commercial, mission critical quality, File server or Client server systems, Thin-client or Web enabled software with a fraction of the effort required by other tools. Clarion is the only product that creates 32-bit programs for Windows 3.x, 9x, NT, 2000, and XP and the Internet / Intranet / Extranet from a single repository, and with integrated Data Dictionary Designer, with native drivers to many database formats (Oracle, MS SQL, Informix, Btrieve, Pervasive SQL,…ASCII, DOS/Basic, xBase) and with integrated powerful multi-user databases (Topspeed, Clarion).

With superior compiler technology integrated Clarion, C++ and Modula-2 compilers from Borland’s founders (JPI) there can be various language modules mixed within a single application. The target Clarion application can be compiled as a standalone 16/32 bit executable file .EXE, or a library in .DLL, .LIB format. It can use an internal Topspeed file system database for smaller network installations, or utilize ODBC and native SQL drivers to connect to any other SQL database.
