After three years in one of the top word-wide companies (Logica) Alfred was offered an independent contract programming work directly from the USA based software company. His current status is freelance developer - contractor working for software companies from USA and Europe. He's responsible for various areas:

Software Engineer / GUI Developer
As a member of Logica Mobile Networks test team Alfred was liable for providing system testing of IMS Server (software product for GSM providers in Europe, America and Asia). He prepared and executed test plan specifications, was involved in writing test scripts in TCL/TK, UNIX shell and SQL languages. His responsibility was providing support and testing as well as System Administration of SUN Solaris servers and Database Administration of ORACLE, INFORMIX and MySQL database servers.

He created many useful GUI applications for Logica flagship Mobile Networks products (Telepath Short Message Center, AETHOS Prepaid System) for user-friendly maintenance of Oracle and Informix databases and prepared complex SQL database schemes with GUI for Chat Server and Telepath Metrics Module applications.

In development and support team of Logica BCSC implementation project in T-Mobile (the major GSM operator) Alfred was responsible for implementing and maintaining mixed Oracle 7/8, UNIX and PC environments. He gained exposure to creating development & test environments on UNIX/Windows platforms, client and server software installation, Oracle databases creation, ensuring backup and recovery integrity, maintenance & tuning of multiple “big” databases in the different Oracle environments.

Head of IT department / Network administrator
Alfred was initially hired as Analyst-programmer / Network administrator and promoted to Head of IT department within six months. In his starting position Alfred participated in development of the Banking information system and managed the operation service of heterogeneous network (4 Novell & UNIX servers).

Within six months Alfred established a small development and production IT team and was liable for the development, system co-ordination, production of information system and the company network. He managed the development team of the banking information system and co-operated in analysis and development with the main German software supplier.

Software Developer
Alfred was engaged in analysis and developing of the complex DOS/Windows network information systems in client-server and file-server configuration for various clients. He was in charge of analysis, data model creation, designing and developing of GUI front-end application. He worked with Clarion - one of the top 3GL/4GL RAD development tools, using this Alfred could develop database independent GUI applications (for xBase, Clarion, TopSpeed, Btrieve a/o Oracle databases) in C-language quality. He provided implementation, education and user support (24/7) for hundreds of his customers.

On the contract basis Alfred provided leading and organization of computer education courses specialized in office and graphic software, economic data processing and programming in various languages. Upon the leading of courses Alfred checked up his presentation efficiency and professional knowledge.
