Michelangelo Antonioni (born September 29, 1912) is an Italian modernist film director whose films are widely considered as some of the most influential in film aesthetics. Antonioni's first international success was L'Avventura (1960), which was followed by La Notte (1961) and L'Eclisse (1962). The major success was Blowup (1966), which was set in England.
